Objective of The Role:
The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the organization’s growth through strategic planning, proposal development, client acquisition, and fostering partnerships. The role demands expertise in identifying opportunities, working on competitive bids, and collaborating with international and national NGOs in Afghanistan to expand the organization’s reach and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement business development strategies to align with organizational goals.
- Identify and analyze new business opportunities in Afghanistan’s market.
- Conduct market research to understand trends, competitor activities, and potential areas for expansion.
- Develop high-quality proposals, concept notes, and expressions of interest in response to solicitations from donors, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to gather inputs and ensure proposals align with organizational objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with international and national NGOs, donors, and other stakeholders.
- Represent the organization at meetings, forums, and events to promote its profile.
- Foster collaborative partnerships to support joint ventures and projects.
- Prepare and submit competitive quotations and bids to secure contracts and projects.
- Ensure compliance with donor and client requirements during the bidding process.
- Track the progress of ongoing proposals and opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, proposal writing, or strategic planning.
- Proven experience working with international and national NGOs in Afghanistan.
- Strong understanding of Afghanistan’s socio-economic and development context.
- Experience in preparing competitive bids, proposals, and quotations.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Dari, and/or Pashto.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of donor requirements and funding mechanisms.
